FOCUS ON FILM NOIR
APRIL 19 – 25
Opening the Columbia Pictures centennial celebration will be a one week special Focus on Film Noir, including works by legendary filmmakers Nicholas Ray (In a Lonely Place, 1950), Fritz Lang (The Big Heat, 1953 and Human Desire, 1954) and Orson Welles (The Lady from Shanghai, 1947), with stars like Rita Hayworth, Gloria Grahame, Humphrey Bogart and Glenn Ford; as well as more rare titles by lesser known master of the genre such as Joseph Lewis, Irving Lerner, Gordon Douglas and Phil Karlson.
Special guests Paul Schrader, cinematographer Fred Murphy, and filmmaker Bette Gordon will make introductions and participate in Q&As during the weekend.

The Sag Harbor Cinema is a new, state-of-the-art triplex movie theater located in the village of Sag Harbor, NY.
As a community-based cinema, the Sag Harbor Cinema is dedicated to presenting the past, present, and future of the Movies, and to preserving the film-going experience.
As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, we rely on public funds not just keep the lights on, but to keep our vision strong. We are grateful to the generosity of the donors and members who together constitute the single greatest family of supporters for the cinema’s programs and mission.

SHC’s PROJECTIONS: BARK THE QUESTION
Join us on Sunday, April 28th, from 1-3 pm, for our next “Projections” series event with the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF)! This event is free to the public and will feature a panel discussion “Bark the Question: A Lesson in Dog Myths & Training” moderated by Sag Harbor Cinema Board Member April Gornik, from 1pm-2pm, with ARF-affiliated certified professional dog trainers Veronica Grzybowska, Cindy LeRoy, Amy Kurtz, as well as Caryl Glaab, Director of Training Programs at the William P. Rayner Training Center at ARF. Afterwards, there will be a pet adoption event at Steinbeck Park, from 2pm-3pm.

James Hamilton: On Film
This exhibit features the work of photographer – and East Hampton resident – James Hamilton.
Hamilton is the subject of an upcoming documentary, UNCROPPED (D.W. Young, 2023), opening April 26th, about his impressive 50+ years photographing the New York arts scene.
